How to apply?

Register with the BC Housing Registry, then connect with Jude Newman Operations Manager, jude@citaapimahtii.com, or call 250-206-4210 to set up a time to meet at the Welcome Center.

What kind of deposit will be required?

The security deposit is ½ months rent.

Do I need renters’ insurance?

Yes. We will be working with HUB insurance to give affordable rates to tenants.

Are we Supportive Housing?

No but there will be links to partnerships and connections with local health providers.

How many bedrooms are there?

8-studios, 7-1 bedrooms, 4-2 bedrooms, 12-3 bedrooms, and 4-4bedroom units

Are utilities included?

No, utilities are the responsiblity of the tenant.

Are there laundry facilities on site?

2 washers and 2 dryers per floor, operated with a smart card

Can I apply and can another family member apply as well?

Absolutely, we promote healthy family living.

How many washrooms are in the 3- and 4-bedroom units?

4 bedroom units have 2 full washrooms the 3 bedrooms have a full washroom and a powder room.

Are the washrooms for a person in a wheelchair or with mobility issues accessible?

Yes, units have accessible washrooms with wider doors, more room to move around in a wheelchair or a walker with a walk in/roll in shower stall.

What amenities are close by?

There is a daycare next door to the building. The high school and bus stops are an 8 min walk away. Grocery store, pharmacy and restaurants 3 min drive or 20 min walk to amenities.

What nations can apply for Citaapi Mahtii Housing?

First and foremost is the Ahousaht Nation, followed with other nations.

What type of affordable housing is there?

RGI or Rent Geared to Income which is 30% of your income. Deep Subsidy for people on Income Assistance or PWD benefits, with market value units as well.

Are pets allowed?

No, not at this time.
