Over the past several weeks, there have been many positive developments within our community, along with important housing updates for those seeking a place to call home.
Celebrating Community Life
Our buildings continue to be places where people come together to celebrate important milestones, honour loved ones, and support one another.
Recently, residents have hosted several birthday celebrations, bringing families and neighbours together in a spirit of joy and friendship. We have also seen ongoing participation in monthly family planning meetings, helping connect individuals with valuable resources and support.
Community spaces have also been used for meaningful cultural gatherings, including a fall potlatch ceremony held in honour of a family member who had passed. In addition, an adoption and naming ceremony recently took place, marking a special and memorable occasion for one family.
These events reflect the importance of shared spaces where traditions can be practised, relationships can grow, and community members can gather in meaningful ways.
Looking Ahead to More Community Events
We recently learned about the Jant basketball tournament that took place a few weeks ago. Events like these are an important part of building healthy, active communities and bringing people together through sport and connection. We hope to share future community event announcements in advance whenever possible so more people can take part and show their support.
Representing Our Community at the AHMAS 30-Year Gala
We are also proud to share that Citaapi Mahtii Housing Society is represented in Vancouver at the AHMAS 30-Year Gala. This milestone celebration recognizes three decades of work in Indigenous housing and community development.
We look forward to sharing highlights and updates from this important event in the near future.
